If you want to master your tricks and technique on the pole, our levelled pole technique classes will provide everything you need to achieve your goals!
Start with 10-Week Beginners to learn the foundations then advance through the levels all the way to our Tech 8 advanced class!

Levelled Pole Tech Classes

Our 10-Week Beginner Pole Dance Course is the perfect place to begin!
You can join our 10-Week Beginner course up until Week 3 of the term. We do lots of revision over the first few weeks. Please check our timetable or home page on the Brisbane Pole app to see which week we are in (if you miss 10-Week Beginners, we then run a 5-Week Beginner half way through the term). If in doubt, text the studio to see which week we are in 0413 318 635.
Across ten weeks, you’ll learn the fundamentals of pole dancing in a supportive, beginner-friendly environment. We focus on safe technique, strength foundations, and body awareness - plus plenty of fun choreography so you can put your new skills together.
What you’ll learn:
- Basic spins and transitions
- Proper grip, posture, and pole safety
- Simple climbs and strength conditioning
- How to link moves into smooth, danceable combos
- Confidence, body awareness, and your own unique style
We recommend shorts with a comfortable top - a tank, T-shirt or crop top is perfect.
Just bring yourself, some water, and get ready to have fun!

Technique 1 will have you learning some new spins and combos, and continue to condition your body in order to invert (yep... we'll be going upside down!) safely and confidently. You'll learn how to do a Layout, an Ankle Grab, Bat and Cross Leg Hang Back.
Pre-requisites: This class is appropriate for those who are working to move from Beginners to Pole Technique 1. It is expected that you have completed a 10 Week Beginners (or equivalent) Pole Course and be able to competently execute these moves:
- Spinning climb > Stand
- Sit on pole > Layout
- Front Hook > Back Hook
- Consecutive Climbs (as high as possible)

Technique 2 will see you spending even more time upside down. You'll perfect your Straddle and Outside Leg Hang as well as start exploring Inside Leg Hangs and a Caterpillar. You'll also learn some beautiful new faster spins and combos.
Pre-requisites: Before enrolling in Tech 2, it is expected that you have completed a Tech 1 (or equivalent) Pole Course and be able to competently execute these moves:
- Ankle Grab > Bat
- Cross Leg Hangback

Things are really starting to get serious in Technique 3!
By the end of this level, you should feel confident with inverting and with a variety of moves from your inside & outside leg hangs.
Core moves learnt in Technique 3 include your inside leg hang, butterfly (bent legs), jamilla and tammy. You will also start to condition and prepare for your shoulder mounts and aerial inverts!
Prerequisites: To enrol in Tech 3, you should be confident with your:
- Ankle Bats
- Straddles
- Outside leg hangs inverts

Welcome to Tech 4!
By the end of Technique 4 you should feel confident with your Extended Butterfly, Aerial Inverts, Shoulder Mounts and Leg Switches.
Pre-requisites: Before enrolling in Tech 4, it is expected that you have completed a Tech 3 Pole Course (or equivalent) and be able to competently execute these moves:
- Outside Leg Hang (spinning forward and backward, both sides)
- Inside Leg Hang (spinning forward and backward, both sides)
- Butterfly (both sides, entry from Ankle Grab & Outside Leg Hang)

Strength, Endurance and Flexibility now starts to become important at this level!
We recommend adding at least one conditioning and one flexibility class per week into your training schedule at Technique 5 level, in order to ensure your body is appropriately conditioned and prepared.
Core moves learnt in Technique 5 include your Static V (Ayesha), Brass Monkey, Jade Split.
Pre-requisites: Before enrolling in Tech 5, it is expected that you have completed a Tech 4 (or equivalent) Pole Course and be able to competently execute these moves:
- Extended Butterfly
- Aerial Straddles
- Shoulder Mount
- Leg Switches

Key moves in Technique 6 include Aerial Shoulder Mounts, Ayeshas/Static V's in various grips, as well as more flexibility & strength based moves and combos from your Tech 5 core moves.
We recommend adding at least one conditioning and one flexibility class per week into your training schedule at Technique 6 level, in order to ensure your body is appropriately flexible, conditioned and prepared.
Pre-requisites: Before enrolling in Tech 6, it is expected that you have completed a Tech 5 Pole Course (or equivalent) and be able to competently execute these moves:
- Aerial Straddle
- Static V/Ayesha (split grip)
- Brass Monkey
- Shoulder Mount > Outside Leg Hang
- Jade Split
- Cup Grip Butterfly

Key moves in Technique 7 include Handsprings, Aerial Shoulder Mounts to Brass Monkey, Static V's in all grips, as well as more flexibility & strength based moves and combos from your Tech 6 core moves.
A high level of strength & flexibility is expected at this level - students are encouraged to be doing several other strength, flexibility and pole classes each week in order to adequately support your body through dynamic movements.
Pre-requisites: Before enrolling in Tech 7, it is expected that you have completed a Tech 6 Pole Course (or equivalent) have been practicing consistently and be able to competently execute these moves:
- Static V (all grips)
- Aerial Shoulder Mount
- Aerial Straddles (straight legs)
- Brass Monkey from shoulder mount

This is our most advanced pole class where you’ll work on elite pole moves!
There is no curriculum for this class and the content is at the discretion of our instructor. Students are expected to have a high level of strength and flexibility to participate, and to have mastered all the prerequisites up to Tech 7, plus the following:
- Handsprings (forward and back entry, both sides)
- Aerial Shoulder Mount to Brass Monkey
Want to learn a pole routine and show off your skills on the pole? We offer levelled dance routines appropriate to your Tech level. These routines will be the same across our 10 week term, so you’ll have plenty of time to perfect both dance and tricks on the pole! There is an opportunity to perform at our end of term showcase - friends and family welcome!

In Technique 1 and looking to extend this knowledge into dance and new combos? Routine 1 will have you learning some new spins and combos in a routine mastered over ten weeks, using all your core tricks from Technique 1, plus heaps of new and unique pole combo transitions and flow to discover.
A great course to do concurrently with Technique 1 to build your endurance and cardio for those new tricks you are working on!
Bring kneepads - you may dance in heels, socks or barefoot.

In Technique 2 or 3 and looking to extend this knowledge into dance and new combos? Routine 2/3 will have you learning some new spins and combos in a routine mastered over ten weeks, using all your core tricks from Technique 2 and 3, plus heaps of new and unique pole combo transitions and flow to discover.
Expect some inverts, leg hangs and other spinning tricks!
A great course to do concurrently with Technique 2 or above to build your endurance and cardio for those new tricks you are working on!
Progressions and regressions will be provided to suit your level.
Bring kneepads - you may dance in heels, socks or barefoot.

In Technique 4 or 5 and looking to extend this knowledge into dance and new combos? Routine 4/5 will have you learning some new spins and combos in a routine mastered over ten weeks, using all your core tricks from Technique 4 and 5, plus heaps of new and unique pole combo transitions and flow to discover.
Expect inverted tricks and challenging combos!
A great course to do concurrently with Technique 4 or above to build your endurance and cardio for those new tricks you are working on!
Progressions and regressions will be provided to suit your level.

Routine 6+ is our highest level dance class!
Learn a challenging routine over 10 weeks with high level pole tricks, combos and dance transitions. You are required to be enrolled in Tech 6 or above to book into this class.
Progressions and regressions will be provided to suit your level.
Bring kneepads - you may dance in heels, socks or barefoot.
Our casual dance classes focus on dance technique and flow - either around the pole, floor, or on a chair. Explore your sensuality, unleash your rage or dance out your feelings - we have many different styles to choose from!
Dance routines will change every 1 to 2 weeks, so feel free to jump in anytime up to Week 9!

*Intermediate classes - Recommended for at least Tech 1+ pole level and some dance experience (faster paced)
*Dance classes typically prepare for showcase in Weeks 9 and 10

Get ready to bring the heat in this adrenaline-pumping intermediate class! Hardstyle chore is designed to challenge your strength and stamina while keeping the energy high with fast transitions, explosive combos, and dynamic kips. Perfect for those ready to level up their skills and embrace the thrill of hardstyle movement.
This class is recommended for T1+. Progressions and regressions will be given for all levels, however - prepare to be challenged!

Heels Flow is about focusing on proper technique in heels and fluidity around the pole while learning exotic style choreography.
Our Heels Flow Chore class is an intermediate class and recommended for levels Tech 1+. This class is the perfect place for experienced dancers to learn new dance moves and more challenging choreography.

Ready to start out your handstand journey or improve your handstand skills?
This class will look at the basics of building strength, stability and confidence, both mentally and physically, to start out or progress on your handstand journey! A mixture of drills are designed to build strength, stamina and technique.
Expect a mix of handstand drills along with other beginner acrobatics and floorwork tricks - including forearm stands, headstands, shoulderstands, fish flops, cartwheels and pole handstands.
Wear comfortable active wear. No shoes required.

Join Open Pole Tricks T1+ for some extra guidance and coaching. Bring your own ideas of the trick/s you want to work on and receive coaching to smash your goals and progress to the next level!
You must be enrolled or have completed a term of Tech 1 in order to attend this class.

Ready to float, fly and soar around the pole with a new kind of flow?
Join Pole Strap Tricks T2+ to learn how to execute tricks using a pole strap! Secured safely to the pole, a pole strap includes a hand loop and swivel that allows you to fly and access a variety of new spins, tricks and shapes.
You must be conformable with inverting (recommended completion of Tech 2) in order to attend this class.

Are you ready to sweat? Join our Strength & Conditioning class, designed to build strength and endurance that will help you both on and off the pole!
Expect a mix of functional strength training, resistance drills, conditioning exercises, and flexibility work.

Are you ready to get FLEXY?!
Stretch & Flex is a balanced, feel-good flexibility class designed to improve mobility, range of motion, and body awareness from head to toe. Each instructor brings their own approach and focus, so classes may vary week to week - you might work more deeply into hips and hamstrings one week, shoulders and back the next, or explore full-body flow and recovery sessions to keep things fresh and well-rounded.
This class is suitable for absolutely everyone, from first-timers to the bendiest humans in the room. Exercises are taught with clear progressions and regressions, so you can work at a level that feels supportive and challenging for your body on the day. Expect a mix of active and passive stretching, strength to support flexibility, and plenty of options to tailor the class to your needs.
